Are you a Catholic student at Southern Oregon University? A young adult attending Mass at Our Lady of the Mountain Church? Simply curious about Catholicism? You are invited to join other young adults at the Newman house for dinner and a short program every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM during the academic year. (Check out our Facebook page.)
The Newman house is located at the corner of Ashland and Elkader Streets, just off campus behind the parking lot of the theatre building. The house is within easy walking distance of any of the buildings on campus, and a large sign out front identifies it. Parking is available in the large driveway of the building (accessible on the Elkader Street side of the building) and along Ashland and Elkader Streets adjacent to the house.
Dinner is served promptly at 6:00 PM (except on those Thursdays when Mass is celebrated first), and a delightful and informative evening of fellowship, talks, games, all aimed at strengthening our faith, follows. Regular attendance at the Newman house activities offers students and young adults the opportunity to form friendships and enjoy a support network strengthened by our shared bonds of faith. The Newman Center offers young adults a place to learn about and celebrate our faith with others. Together we share life experiences and a special connection based upon our love of Christ and a shared desire to celebrate His love for us.
We welcome you!
