Fr. Maro’s Weekly Message

Dear Parishioners,

The sun is beautiful. Reflecting on the total solar eclipse that I was so blessed to witness, I realized that the sun is really beautiful. But our sun’s beauty is not always recognizable and we often take it for granted because it is not always possible to look at it directly. However, during the eclipse, when the moon was totally in front of it, I was able to see a glimpse of how beautiful the sun really is. During the eclipse, it was the sun’s beauty and not really the moon’s beauty, that made the whole experience wonderful.

I was reminded of how Mary is often times likened to the moon because Mary reflects the light of Jesus. But Mary not only reflects the light of Jesus, she also makes clearer the beauty and majesty of Jesus.

Our Lord and Savior is truly beautiful but his beauty and majesty is not always clear to us; sometimes we even take it for granted. But through our Mother Mary, our patroness, we can see a glimpse of that beauty and majesty. Let us then continue to go to our Blessed Mother for her powerful intercession so that we may always have the help that we need in recognizing our Lord’s glory. Someday, we will see the fullness of our Lord’s beauty and majesty but until that time comes, let us rely on the help of our Blessed Mother. Let us allow our devotion to her lead us to the beauty and majesty of our God.

In Christ,
Fr. Maro
