Rejoice! Rejoice! For the true Light which enlightens everyone has come.
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us allow the light of Jesus Christ illumine our hearts today and everyday so that our life as His followers may continue to serve as the light that brings joy in our world. May our Lord’s presence in us be seen by the people around us as we live our lives in joy and happiness and may it serve to light their way to a relationship with our God.
People who are joyful tend to be seen as a “light” or life of the party (or any other gathering of family and friends) and sometimes people say it is not just the same without them. I think it is a beautiful compliment to be seen as a light, especially for us Christians, because that can mean that the light of Jesus that is in our hearts is shining brightly. Let us do our best to keep the fire in our hearts burning brightly in the way we live our lives because truly, this world we live in will not be the same without us. Let us continue to spread the love of God and be generous in doing so. And as a parish family, let us continue to bring the light of Jesus Christ to our community here in Ashland and let us be true witnesses of our faith in our Lord.
Brothers and sisters, Merry Christmas!!!
In Christ, Fr. Maro
