Fr. Maro’s Weekly Message

Fr. MaroDear Parishioners,

As we celebrate today the feast day of the Holy Family, let us be inspired by the openness and obedience of Mary and Joseph to the will of the Father in heaven. Mary and Joseph had to go through a lot of trials but they triumphed because of their obedience to God’s will – they listened to God for instructions and directions, now we are called to do the same. We are called to allow God to be present in our families and be obedient to His will so that He can help us decide where to go and what to do when we face trials and difficulties.

Brothers and sisters, in our families we sometimes experience problems, let us be confident that everything will be taken care of if we, like Joseph and Mary, put our trust and confidence in God. All of us desire that our families should be problem free; but that is not possible. However, if we follow the example of Joseph in keeping our faith in God, then like his family, we will be guided to where God wants us to be and for sure we will triumph over the trials that we will be experiencing or are experiencing as a family.

There is no secret to a problem free family but if we allow God to be present in our family, then we will start seeing the problems not as problems but as opportunities to show our trust and confidence in God – we will see the trials as opportunities to love even if it is not so easy. If God is with our family, we will see the trials as opportunities for our family to be holy like that of the family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Let us welcome the new year with a renewed sense of hope for our future. God is already there, let us not be afraid. Let us instead be confident that God will lead us to where He wants us to be just like He led the Holy Family.

In Christ, Fr. Maro
