Fr. Brent’s Weekly Message

Dear Friends,

In the Beatitudes, Our Lord Jesus tells us, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” If we want peace in our world, it begins with each one of us. We all have a personal responsibility to be a peacemaker… within our families, at work, in our parish community, in our city, state, and nation, and in all other areas of our lives. I invite all of us to pray the prayer of St. Francis everyday:

“Lord, make me an instrument of your
PEACE
Where there is hatred, let me sow
LOVE
Where there is injury,
PARDON
Where there is doubt,
FAITH
Where there is despair,
HOPE
Where there is darkness,
LIGHT
And where there is sadness,
JOY
Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to Console; to be understood as to Understand; to be loved as to Love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.”
