This weekend we begin a celebration of the Patroness of our Parish, the Blessed Virgin Mary. We begin by celebrating her Assumption, body and soul into heaven and then next weekend, on August 22, 2020 we will celebrate her crowning as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Mary is the patroness of our parish, our archdiocese, and our nation. We can and should turn to her in all of our needs, especially now. I invite all of us to pray the ancient “Memorare” prayer every day:
REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
