Happy Feast Day!
On Wednesday, August 15th, we will be celebrating our parish feast day. Normally we celebrate our feast day with a picnic the Sunday before, but as announced, we are moving our parish picnic to next month, (September 9); so I hope you will all come here at OLM on Wednesday to celebrate with a Mass the Solemnity of our Blessed Mother’s Assumption. It is a holy day of obligation so we are all expected to come. On that day too (during the evening Mass) we will have the consecration to Jesus through Mary of some of our brothers and sisters who went through the 33 days retreat. It is exciting and I hope that we all come together to celebrate.
Through the intercession of our Blessed Mother – Our Lady of the Assumption – our patroness, let us continue to pray for our parish community. That we may all continue to grow in holiness and become more and more like our Blessed Mother who is the perfect example of the Christian way of life. Let us continue to reach out to each other and strive to get to know more the members of our parish community so that we are not just strangers who are together worshiping the Lord in the Eucharist, but truly members of a family in love with God and with one another. May God continue to bless us always.
