Fr. Maro’s Weekly Message

Fr. MaroDear Parishioners,

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in our parish community. I would like to thank you for your love and devotion to your families. Your love for your children comes close to the unconditional love that God has for all of us. May the Lord continue to give you the strength you need in fulfilling the ministry you have in your family and in the vocation that God has called you to live. When things are getting too exhausting, know that I am always praying for you, thanking God for the things that you do. Through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, may you continue to become like her – strong yet gentle, determined, wise and uncompromising in faith. May you all be filled with God’s grace and blessings.

Thinking about the role of mothers in every family, I cannot help but appreciate as well the “mothers” of our parish community. In every institution, I believe there is a great need for some to stand as mothers for everyone. Our parish community is indeed a family and we are grateful for the things that are being done by our “mothers”: those who care for the children in their religious education classes; those who take care of the beautiful decorations, plants and flowers in and outside our church building; those who care for the linens and vestments that we use in our liturgical celebrations; our sacristan and her assistant who take care of the sacred vessels, (sometimes referred to as “dishes”) after each Eucharistic meal that we celebrate; those who take care of the kitchen supplies; our coordinator for funeral receptions with her team; the ladies of our Pastoral Council who make sure that parish activities and gatherings are always well organized; the ladies of our ushers team who make sure that our guests always feel welcome; the ladies of our parish office staff; and so many more women who do the motherly duties in our parish family. Thank you very much. Through the intercession of our Mother, may you also always be blessed in your ministries. May God bless us all.

In Christ, Fr. Maro
