Greetings from the Eternal City – Rome!!!
The pilgrimage is going well, after more than 24 hours of travel (flight delays) we made it to Rome last Tuesday evening. The first three days of the pilgrimage are spent in Rome and it truly is a wonderful city. I am so blessed to have this opportunity of seeing God’s greatness through the beautiful and ancient city of Rome. All in all, there are 16 of us in the group – from three states! (Oregon, Washington, and Kentucky).
Last Wednesday we were able to have an audience with the Holy Father along with thousands of other people from all over the world. It is a good reminder of how beautiful and universal our Church really is.
The Holy Father shared with the pilgrims his message that Jesus Christ is the true foundation of fraternity, freedom, and justice in our world – this is the same message that he gave the people from Mozambique, Madagascar, and Mauritius where he just visited as a pilgrim of peace and hope. Our Lord is and will always be the source of all goodness. Let us continue to be witnesses of that goodness to everyone as we continue to rely on his grace to help us in everything we do.
Today I brought with me your prayers as I was given the great blessing of celebrating Mass at the Mother of all Churches – The St. John Lateran Basilica. We are praying for all of you. Please pray for our journey as well. May God bless you.
