Thank you for all your prayers, we had a wonderful pilgrimage. Please know that I prayed for all of you as well. I brought your intentions with me to the different sites and churches we visited during the pilgrimage and I prayed for each of those intentions at every site. Thank you for giving me the chance to take them with me.
One of the things I liked most about the whole trip to Italy was the fact that there are signs of Christianity and Catholicism everywhere. It sure is beautiful to see that everywhere I turn, there seems to be a Catholic Church and I often heard church bells tolling which never failed to bring me to prayers. One time while I was praying and resting inside one of the great churches in Rome, I caught myself wondering if all the people there are Catholics (or Christians for that matter) and I thought probably not. But I found myself hoping that standing or sitting before the great works of art, they too are moved to recognize the greatness of God who made everything possible.
In our own city or country, we may not see signs of Catholicism or Christianity everywhere but let us realize that we can be those signs. We can be God’s works of art that can move others to recognize his greatness. It is a constant challenge for us to not allow our identity as Catholics to fade behind the background of our secular society. Let us be always vigilant in our witness of faith. Our Faith and Church are beautiful, wherever we are and whoever we are with, let us show the greatness of God.
