Fr. Maro’s Weekly Message

Fr. MaroDear Parishioners,

I announced last weekend that there will be an opportunity for the members of our parish community to volunteer and serve food for our brothers and sisters who are staying at the Winter Shelter in downtown Ashland. I am so glad that a lot of you have already expressed interest in this endeavor. The sign up sheet is already in the breezeway. I hope that you will prayerfully consider volunteering either to help in serving the food for dinner on Thursday evenings in March or in serving food for breakfast on Friday mornings in March. You can also volunteer to prepare the food – preparing the food does not necessarily mean you will also be the ones serving it and volunteering to serve the food does not necessarily mean you will have to prepare the food. That way there will be more opportunities for more volunteers to sign up and it will help “lighten the work”.

If you belong to a particular ministry in the parish, I hope that you can as a group volunteer to take care of a particular Thursday evening or Friday morning. Our parish Pastoral Council will take care of the first Thursday and Friday. There will be an orientation for all volunteers on Mar 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the parish hall. More information can be found on the hand-out next to the volunteer sign up sheet on the table in the breezeway.

As the Holy Season of Lent approaches, please plan on taking advantage of this opportunity to do acts of charity and sacrifice. I believe this will make your journey through Lent more meaningful as you provide food for those who are most in need. May God continue to bless us all.

In Christ,
Fr. Maro
