Fr. Maro’s Weekly Message

Fr. MaroDear Parishioners,

We are living in difficult times and our lives have been disrupted. Things changed very fast and we can only do our best to adapt just as fast to the temporary changes in our lives. One thing will never change though, and that is God’s love for us. For our part let us continue to have faith in our God and pray for His mercy and protection.

I am thinking of you and praying for all of you. I will continue to celebrate Masses in our parish community and Mass intentions will continue to be offered. Although you can only attend the Mass through livestreams or TV broadcasts and do spiritual communion, please know that God’s grace is still given and the sacrament is still celebrated. Let us look forward to that time when we can be together again in the celebration of the Eucharist.

For the meantime our Masses are livestreamed through our parish’s Facebook page. If you have a Facebook account, search for our Facebook page – Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland and “like” it to have access to the videos. Also, at 3:00 in the afternoon, let us pray the Rosary together. Through the intercession of our Blessed Mother, let us pray for God’s mercy and protection.

With our parish’s Administrative and Pastoral Councils, I am appealing for your continued support of our parish ministries through your faithful giving. We are projecting a big hit in our finances as Sunday Masses are cancelled through Easter Sunday. The parish relies on the weekly offertory collection to pay for OLM’s utilities as well as the salaries for our parish staff. We need your continued support. Please consider sending your financial support through the mail or sign up for online giving. There is a link on our parish website and you will be directed by easy-to-follow instructions should you decide to register for online giving.

Your continued support and faithful giving will alleviate the financial impact this crisis will have on Our Lady of the Mountain’s ministries.

Thank you very much and please be assured of my prayers for you and those you love. Through the intercession of our patroness, our Blessed Mother, let us pray for God’s mercy and protection. We are living in difficult times but let us remember that it is in difficult times that God can grant his greatest mercies.

In Christ,
Fr. Maro
