Dear SOU Student,
Please be aware that there is a fun, religious, Spirit-filled, and Faith-forming community at the SOU Campus – the Walsh Memorial Newman Center or the Newman Center for short.
I would like to invite you (new student at SOU or not) to be a part of this community. You will meet new friends that can help you adjust to the life of a college student. Adjusting to the different schedules and forming new friends can sometimes be challenging but with the community at the Newman Center, things can be easier.
We have weekly gatherings that start with dinner on Thursdays at 6:00pm. The gatherings do not last later than 8:00pm. We do a variety of things during our gatherings: Mass, discussion of relevant social and religious issues, bbq’s, game nights, movie nights, and many other things – come and join us! You do not have to be a Catholic to be a part of this community but be aware that the discussions will focus on teaching the Catholic Faith, doctrines and traditions.
This website can provide you with more information about the SOU Newman Center but if you have more questions, please call Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church and we will do our best to answer your questions.
